WHERE SILENCE IS HEARD

In our overstimulated world, silence becomes uncomfortable and isolating. When we're confronted with stillness we mindlessly reach for our phone or the remote, we turn up the volume. We're afraid to be alone—alone in our thoughts. It's no wonder because often times those thoughts berate and betray us. We get stuck in this paradox where we simultaneously crave and yet want to avoid the silence. And the more we strive for it, the more it seems to allude us. Rather than avoiding the silence, we must first pass through those feelings of being alone, isolated and uncomfortable, without judgement, until we hear the silence that connects us to ourselves and the world around us.
